Hi freinds, I am Rabbi yosef Edery, this is my introduction to the Orot Hashchar party I am a board member of - I'm specifically reaching out to my fellowAnglo Community here with me in the Holy Land of Israel, to intrudce and explore why I'm part of Orot Hashchar.
This article is my impressions from my last few months working with the wonderful people in Orot Hashchar, who each stand alone in merit in leadership and support of their fellow man, and ever more so together in unity, to build Israel's tommarow in ways of security, integrity, victory, safety, justice, and much more.

What Is Orot HaShachar?
Orot HaShachar — the "Lights of the Dawn" — is a right-wing political party that believes the State of Israel must step boldly into its next chapter: the dawn of redemption. We are not merely another faction on the right. We are a movement with a vision. While the current right-wing government, despite its good intentions, has proven stagnant and lacking a forward path, Orot HaShachar offers the Jewish people a clear, Torah-aligned direction out of the long exile and into a redeemed, secure, and sovereign future.
From the get go, Lots of movments in Orot Hashchar have constantly been covered by mainstream media in Israel, and Jonathan Pollard was welcomed to the political community with great support and excitement
Our strategy is practical and political: we seek to build a technical bloc on the right, alongside parties such as Zehut and other nationalist movements, to create a decisive option for change — leaving no room for compromise or retreat. Together, we will forge the perfect coalition to transform Israel from within.

Our Leadership

Benayahu Har Shemesh — Party Leader
A young man currently serving in the Israel Defense Forces, Benayahu embodies the spirit of a new generation: committed, clear-eyed, and unwilling to accept anything less than an Israel that can protect and defend itself properly.
His leadership springs from the battlefield and is dedicated to building a state worthy of the soldiers who defend it.
His openness to unite with his fellow right wing political party partners, is of the most outgoing and unifying in comparison to the other political right wing today.
Jonathan Pollard — Lead Board Member
Reverred and loved by all of Israel, Jonathan Pollard makes good use of his experience and offers resolution to Israel.
As is well documented and widely known, Jonathan Pollard spent decades in an American prison for one reason: he acted to preserve Jewish life in the Holy Land and around the world. While he sacrificed everything, the Israeli establishment abandoned him.
His service granted him access to the highest levels of classified American and Israeli intelligence, giving him a rare strategic understanding of what Israel truly requires to survive and thrive.
His presence in our party is a living testament to unbroken dedication, resilience, and the principle that Israel must never betray those who sacrifice for her.
Pollard aligned with Nissim Luk on expulsion of non nationalist populace from Israel as a must, for the security of Israel.
Jonathan entered the political scene in Israel by storm, and We are honored and grateful to have him as a pillar of our leadership. Many welcomed him as a honest realistic leader that understands the situation and the urgency to correct the current trajectory of the state of Israel.
In vein of efforts for a technical block, Jonathan Pollard - from the political Orot Hashchar party - is calling for a united right wing with moshe feiglin. (video below)
Mr. Nissin Luk — Lead Board Member
Nissin Luk is a father whose beloved daughter was murdered at the Nova Festival during the October 7th massacre. Out of unimaginable loss, he has risen to demand a different reality for the Jewish people — one in which such atrocities are not merely mourned but permanently prevented. His presence in the party is a sacred reminder of the cost of failure and the urgency of change.
Nissim has shown himself to be popular and well accepted across the political right and left wing spectrum and has joined the party efforts of coalition unity.
Rabbi Yosef Edery — Spiritual Guide and Board Member
A Chabad rabbi who studied in New York, France, and the Holy Land, Rabbi Edery passed his rabbinic ordination test (for semicha) from Rabbi Lobkovsky at 770. Today he lives in the Land of Israel with his wife and five children. He serves as an advisor to the Sanhedrin initiative — a separate yet parallel effort to seek clarity in Jewish justice and law. His role in Orot HaShachar is to provide Torah guidance and spiritual vision, ensuring the party remains rooted in the eternal values of the Jewish people.
Rabbi Yosef - popular in his own right from before the war, talking in the knesset with efforts to assist with the Justice Reform sees Orot Hashchar as a correct expression for that momentum for change.
Yair Ansbacher — Strategic Advisor & Security Critic
Dr. Yair Ansbacher is an Israeli national security expert, an educator, a graduate of the IDF Special Forces, and a sharp critic of the current state of affairs. His professional background includes serving as an advisor on counter-terrorism to the Israel Police and the Prime Minister's Office, bringing a high level of expertise and intelligence to the party's platform.
A former combat soldier, he served in the elite Maglan commando unit and later in a classified reserve commando unit. He was among the first responders to the October 7th attacks, providing him with a direct and critical perspective on the failures of the current defense establishment. Ansbacher has been a vocal critic of the government's handling of the war, accusing the leadership of mismanaging the conflict and allowing excessive American influence over Israeli strategy. He has publicly warned against a disconnect between the rhetoric of "total victory" and the battlefield reality, stating, "Don't lie to the public. Everything is not okay.".
An intelligent professional who founded the "Eitan" pre-military preparatory school, Ansbacher is committed to nurturing a new generation of Israeli leaders rooted in Jewish values and clear-eyed about the nation's security challenges.
Moshe Yosef Cohen — Treasurer
Moshe Cohen oversees the financial integrity of the party, ensuring that our resources are managed with transparency and responsibility, faithful to the public we aim to serve.
Ms. Inbal Maor — Educator, Social Entrepreneur, and Advocate for the Elderly
Ms. Inbal Maor is a dedicated educator, social entrepreneur, and community leader. She has worked for over a decade as a kindergarten teacher and director, and she is also a certified parenting counselor for teenagers and a couples consultant. Alongside her educational work, she hosts a podcast dedicated to business promotion, helping professionals expand their reach.
The central pillar of her life’s mission is the founding and management of the "R.H.L." nonprofit organization, established in memory of her beloved mother, Rachel, of blessed memory.
The organization provides vital medication, food baskets, and direct support to disadvantaged elderly individuals, giving a voice to a population too often forgotten. This mission is deeply personal: Inbal grew up in poverty and witnessed her mother forced to choose between buying food and purchasing life-saving medicine. Her commitment is born from an intimate understanding of hardship.
Her life story is one of resilience, strength, and unshakable giving. Having overcome immense challenges as a child, she embodies proof that willpower, faith, and action on behalf of others can transform reality. Inbal now brings her rich experience, professionalism, and immense heart to Orot HaShachar, with the goal of representing and fighting for Israel’s senior citizens and families.
Sigal Gutsman — Board Member
Sigal Gutsman is a woman of great compassion and action, heading a charitable organization that assists single-parent homes.
She brings to the party a deep commitment to the welfare of Israel’s families and the conviction that a strong nation begins with strong, supported homes.

Our Platform
1. National Loyalty and Demography
We must clear from the Land of Israel those who have proven to be unaffiliated with the preservation and sustainability of the Jewish state. We will not harbor people in the Holy Land who have no intention of being faithful to Jewish nationalism and the future of the Jewish people — and certainly not those who actively threaten or assist those who threaten our safety.
We propose a two-part policy:
· Voluntary Relocation Package: Following the model advanced by President Trump, Israel will actively assist and encourage those who wish to leave to do so, with dignity and financial support.
· No Loyalty, No Citizenship: Those who cannot affirm their allegiance to the Jewish state as a Jewish state will find no permanent home within it.
2. Judicial Reform 2.0: Ending the Reign of an Unelected Court
The current judicial system is a corrupt, compromised, unelected body that has often acted as an enemy within — obstructing nationalist policy and protecting those who hate us. Orot HaShachar will continue the efforts of the right-wing government and enshrine them in stone.
Our reforms include:
· Elected Judges: Judges will be selected by the democratically elected members of the Knesset, not by a closed guild of legal elites.
· The Override Clause: If the Prime Minister and 71% of the Knesset support a law, it shall be enacted regardless of court objection. The will of the people’s representatives must prevail.
· Dismantling Corruption: We will introduce technical mechanisms to restructure the court system, instilling it with a healthy, Jewish, nationalist, and integrity-driven ethos — a court that hates greed, serves justice, and loves its people.
3. Defense: The Green Light to Win
In recent days, and As shortcomings of the security integrity of the state of Israel rise alarmingly. Orot Hashchar offers a vision, healthy, moral ethical and unwavering, a commitment to victory and security, and a stren stance against the stagnation and uncertainty the public expirience in the current situation.
The Israel Defense Forces must receive a permanent, unambiguous green light to win every war and every campaign. There will be no more back-and-forth. No more containment. No more appeasement. Any threat to the Jewish people will be met with decisive, overwhelming force until it is utterly eliminated. Our soldiers will know that their state stands behind them to victory.
4. Jewish Statehood: One Law, One People
The State of Israel must be Jewish in its essence. The law of the land shall be the Torah. We believe in lowering taxes where possible, cutting bureaucracy mercilessly, and restructuring government systems to be accessible, transparent, and respectful to the citizen.
5. Voluntary Taxation with Dignity
A Jew must not be taxed in a predatory manner. The Torah commands, "You shall not place a stumbling block before the blind" (Leviticus 19:14). We will not create a tax system that acts as a stumbling block. Our model is based on voluntary, contract-based taxation: programs and services will be clearly explained and presented. If a civilian chooses not to join, then that program has either not been properly explained or is more of a burden than a benefit. Citizens will only be taxed for what they have agreed to and understood. This is taxation with consent, transparency, and Torah dignity.
6. Education: Torah for Every Child in the Land
We will uplift and transform every public school in the Holy Land. Every child — whether Jewish, Druze, Arab, Christian, or Muslim — will be well-versed in Torah, Scripture, Prophecy, Jewish law, Talmud, Mishna, and Hasidic philosophy at an appropriate level.
For our non-Jewish citizens, we introduce a renewed framework of Ger Toshav (resident alien) status, a halachic concept that has lain dormant for two thousand years of exile and is now in urgent need of development and application. Their curriculum will be more basic than that of a yeshiva student, beginning with the Seven Laws of Noah, yet enriched with community-building elements and a broad understanding of the Jewish principles upon which the state is founded. This is not merely an educational reform — it is a novel idea essential for national trust, security, and the unification of Jewish law with daily governance.
Why? Because as we witnessed on October 7th, the enemies of Israel do not distinguish between Jew, Christian, or Muslim when they attack. Whoever dwells within our gates will either be a partner in the Jewish story or a potential point of sabotage in their own hearts. We will ensure that every resident, regardless of faith, understands what this nation represents and where their loyalty must lie. This will forge unbreakable camaraderie in the IDF, where secular, religious, and non-Jewish soldiers will fight hand in hand for the same principles of redemption — without fear of betrayal.
7. Policing: A Force That Serves the People
Police officers must serve the people, not prey upon them. To this end, police will undergo a minimum of four years of training, ensuring they are well-versed in the law and deeply instilled with the ethic of public service. We will eradicate the culture that allows officers to become predators and violators of human rights.
8. The Path to Redemption
More than a political platform, Orot HaShachar carries a vision for the Jewish future. We believe the long exile is ending, and the dawn of redemption is rising. While other parties manage the status quo, we propose a direction — toward a fully realized Torah state, toward clarity, toward justice, and toward the ultimate fulfillment of the Jewish people’s mission in their land.
---
Our Strategic Position on the Right
As the right wing parties take shape, Orot HaShachar aims to build a unified technical bloc on the right side of the political field, working with like-minded movements such as Zehut to consolidate the nationalist camp.
Calls for right wing unity are ringing We will not scatter our votes and risk the left exploiting our divisions. Instead, we will present the nation with a perfect, unified option for authentic change.
